In 2017 I was properly fed up. Fed up with dry tampons that irritated, and with sweaty pads that never stayed in place. So I tried a menstrual cup. Clumsy at first? Absolutely. But then I got the hang of it, and I never went back.
I learned that the vagina absorbs substances, so whatever is in your period products can go straight into your body. In a market with little openness about production and ingredients, I felt unsure. That was when I decided to develop the products I was looking for myself.
Two years, far too many prototypes and a factory visit in Taiwan later, the Flove menstrual cup became a reality. Since then, Flove period underwear has joined – for periods and leaks.
Why can't period products be colourful – and seen?
Period products have long been white, beige and hidden at the bottom of your bag. As if periods were something to be ashamed of.
